The left thread plug gauge is used to measure the accuracy of the internal thread size. The varieties of left-thread plug gauges can be divided into three types: popular coarse thread, fine thread and pipe thread. Threaded plug gauges with a pitch of 0.35 mm or less, grade 2 accuracy and higher than grade 2, and threaded plug gauges with a pitch of 0.8 mm or lower grade 3 accuracy, do not have end-stop probes. Threaded plug gauges below 100 mm are tapered shank threaded plug gauges. Above 100 mm is a double-shank threaded plug gauge.
